What are the signs of dyslexia?

Dyslexia is one of those disabilities that are comparatively much easier to recognize that most others. All you need to do is watch out for the following common signs of dyslexia discussed hereunder…

The most common signs include directional confusions (that can make one confused about even the simple right to left or up to down type directions), difficulty in reading even the smaller words, and over all confused spelling and reading.

Another common problem is with their handwriting. A number of times they have a problem writing in clean handwriting and the uneven letter, size and slant patterns can be visibly distinguished. While in some cases the problem is very severe, others learn to handle it fairly well.

People suffering from dyslexia may also take longer to develop mature speech patterns. They may tend to make up their own words sometimes, and can face problems with right ordering or sequencing of things. Apart from that, most dyslexics tend to perform badly at mathematics, for the simple reason that they cannot see and perceive the numbers, their sequence, the mathematical symbols and instructions exactly like others. However, it is important to note that this does not necessarily imply that they do not have an IQ.

Generally these signs tend to get ignored during early childhood by parents and even teachers, who simply believe that the child is either just too careless or not a fast learner. However, a close watch on the kid and paying them constant attention can help recognize the signs of dyslexia more easily.
