To start with, dyslexia is mostly a learning disability, where due to certain abnormal functions of one’s brain and transmission system; data cannot be processed the same way as in a normal mind. In other words, a dyslexic does not always perceive things the same way as the others.

It is marked by a number of symptoms including problems with sequencing, reading, spelling, bad handwriting and late development of a matured speech pattern. It can also handicap one’s ability to do mathematics and make learning a tough procedure since it is tough for the mind to retain things that were not perceived well in the first place.

This disability can be caused due to a number of causes, including genetic causes, physical injury, mental stress (especially during childhood), or bad nutrition or care during the first few years of life. It can be classified according to the kind of function it disrupts the most, such as auditory, visual, etc.

Dyslexia is usually tough to recognize, since it appears during the early stages of childhood, when one may not be able to communicate their exact problems. However, generally, with special care and training, the problem can be taken care of to help the dyslexic lead a more normal life.
