Help with dyslexia for teenagers

Help with dyslexia should be provided to teenagers very carefully, to make sure that they can cope with the disability well enough. However, this can often be extremely difficult owing to a number of factors. Firstly, they are old enough to understand the implications of the condition, though they may not be matured enough to handle the fact bravely enough. Secondly, it can affect their self esteem a lot, which can be aggravated by the fact that they have always been taunted for been one of the poor performers at school.

Owing to these reasons, it is crucial to handle the mater with delicacy. Not only do the loved ones need to tell them that they would not be any less accepted by the world because of their disability, but also that they are not the only ones in the world with the condition. Assure them that they are only as normal as a teenager could be, except for the few problems created by dyslexia.

Also, to improve their performance, keep reminding them their neither are their IQ levels less than the others, nor are they any less talented. Keep telling them that with extra effort and a bit of fight they can improve their performance at school too. Also, in the meanwhile, encourage them to unearth their talents and see if they posses that special vision or outlook that can make them successful in other fields.

Getting them enrolled at special dyslexic associations and clubs is a very good idea, to provide them help with dyslexia.
